Bhutan could not be included in the 2026 Global Hunger Index because of a lack of data. However, some GHI component indicator values are available. Child stunting affects 17.9 percent of children under five, down from 44.8 percent in the earliest reference period, while under-five mortality has fallen from 7.8 percent to 1.7 percent.
